This message is for Grand Valley Online Learners: We have three important announcements: First - Good News… Free School Meals till the end of the 2020-2021 School Year Why Should Your Family Take Advantage of this??? The Breakfast and Lunch meals are FREE & help stretch your household food budget. They save you time & are available in school and for the virtual remote learners They make the school day seem a little more Normal….and who can’t use a little normal these days? You are helping to create/sustain jobs & the local economy! They are delicious, nutritious, can be hot or cold meals, fun and convenient! They are FREE for all kids for the rest the 2020-2021 School Year Please call Jeanette Bower @ 440-805-4549 with questions or concerns Second - For online learners in Grades 6-12 from Mrs. Cozad: Please remember that on Wednesdays you are to log into your Google Meet to talk with your teachers. Also, any teacher who requires you to attend their Google Meets during the school day the rest of the week, you are required to attend or you will be marked as an unexcused absence. Third - A reminder that there is a link on the GV Website to provide us with information as to whether or not you plan on sending your children back to school in January. GVES Halloween Celebration Update 10/30/20 Students must be able to put on their costume independently- no adult help will be given due to social distancing protocols (Please practice at home). Costumes must be worn over the student’s clothes. Please no accessories. The students will be wearing their protective face masks throughout the celebration. There will be no parade or visitors. Students will participate in activities organized by the teacher. PTO will provide treats from the school cafeteria.

Grand Valley Elementary, Tomorrow is Team Thursday (wear your favorite sports team attire). It’s fun to be on a sports team but you can also exercise on your own. It is very important to live an active lifestyle “Children and adolescents should do 60 minutes or more of physical activity each day. Most of the 60 minutes should be either moderate- or vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity, and should include vigorous-intensity physical activity at least 3 days a week.” https://www.choosemyplate.gov/

Just a Reminder Tuesday is Tie Dye Tuesday! Some of the best tie dye shirts have many different colors. Did you know that your plate should be colorful too? Not your physical plate you eat off of but the fruit and vegetables this is on it! We all should be eating fruits and vegetables of all the colors of the rainbow. Different colored fruit and vegetables have different vitamins and minerals that our body needs to stay healthy. Good Afternoon, Mrs. Greathouse's 5th grade class wrote an amazing persuasive essay on why students should be allowed to were shorts tomorrow. Since they did such a great job, all kindergarten through 5th grade students are allowed to wear shorts, Friday, October 22nd. Thanks!

GV sophomores met with Atech during their English classes to learn about all the available technical options there. Applications for Atech are open for next year and available on their website. Have a great day GV!

This week, GVHS seniors learned Parchment with Mrs. Gibbons and Mrs. Brumit in their English classes so they can have easy access to their transcripts as they make their post-secondary plans!

Our GVHS scientists are busy exploring chemical compounds with Mr. Nims in his third and sixth period Chemistry classes! Have a great day GV!

This message is for Grand Valley K-12 families. We have 3 pieces of information to share with you. First, a reminder to our 3rd grade Total Online Learners that Thursday and Friday of this week, October 22nd and 23rd, is the 3rd Grade Ohio Reading Test. We will begin at 9:30. We are asking that all 3rd grade online students come through the elementary school office doors at 9:15am. The test is paper pencil. No Chromebooks needed. And remember...you must wear a mask! Secondly, a message for all families of students with an IEP. There is a Family Survey that the Ohio Department of Education has sent to every school district and would like completed by November 30th. The link to the survey is located on our Website under the NEWS tab. Finally, for our TOTAL Online Learners. There will be a link on our Website tomorrow, in yellow, you won’t be able to miss it! The title is: Online Learners, Who Plans to Attend School in Person in January? The link will take you to a form to complete. We are asking that you complete this form by November 13th which will give the district ample time to plan on how to safely accommodate all our in-school learners in January. That’s it for now.
