Yesterday the Mustang Safety Club had the Ashtabula Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team come and talk with our students who are involved with our Safety Team! They shared with the students all the different features that all their equipment has and what all they can do. Students even got to try on their gear and see how heavy their plated vests are! The students had such a fun time, got to ask questions, and learn more about all the different avenues there are as First Responders. Thank you to our GV SRO Officer Brockway and the Ashtabula Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T. Team for doing this!

Grand Valley,
After a search with local law enforcement, our school campus is ruled safe and school operations will be normal tomorrow. Thank you for your patience during these incidents.
-Dr. William R. Nye, Jr.

Grand Valley Families,
Today a number of email threats went to multiple school districts around the state of Ohio. Grand Valley was one of the schools that received this threat and several hundred of schools received them as well state wide.
The messages claim to be from a Russian terrorist organization purporting to have planted explosives in American schools.
Local law enforcement, state law enforcement, the Ohio School Safety Center, the Department of Education and Workforce and the FBI have all been notified.
The intent of this message is simply to alert you to the situation and to let you know the appropriate authorities have been contacted and we have started our threat assessment and investigation.
The time of the threat has passed and it is not deemed as a creditable threat for the future. We are in the process of being extra cautious and will conduct a comprehensive search of our campus with law enforcement this evening. In today's world there seem to be more and more of these types of incidents and we take every one seriously. I try to update everyone as quickly as possible as soon as I can get information that is correct and accurate. If there are any further developments occur, I will let you know.
School operations will continue normally but I feel all of our stakeholders need to know information when it can be available. Thank you for your patience in these crazy times and we take pride in having a safe school for our children to attend, for them to learn in and use for resources in times of need.
-Dr. William R. Nye, Jr.
