Grand Valley‘s Interact club completed the toothpaste and deodorant drive. It was a huge success. We want to thank all of the families and businesses who participated and let everyone know that all of these items are going to be used to create care packages for foster children in the Rotary district 6630. The district collected well over 1000 items to be used in these care packages. We also would like to thank MVP Plastics for their very generous donation of pencil boxes for the foster children!

Yesterday 15 students from Grand Valley traveled to Youngstown State University to take part in the 41st annual English Festival with 1300 students from Ohio and PA, and let me tell you, they answered the question, “Who is Grand Valley?” with stunning style! In the “Not So Trivial Pursuit” category Madasen Dowling and Tehya Crawford both placed third! In the “I Love Limericks” category, Karena Byler took second and Faith Fulner placed first!! Abigail Chernesky stormed the stage to collect her Honorable Mention award in the “Art” contest, and then - in a command performance - she returned to the stage to collect $100 dollars, a t-shirt, two books and a pin when she took first place in the distinguished “Journalism Workshop” category! Not to be outdone, Alyssa Spencer collected her $100 dollars, books and pins in the prestigious Candace Gay Memorial Essay Contest by placing 3rd out of more than 500 entries! Congratulations to these students for an outstanding show of cerebral vigor!
