Hello Grand Valley Elementary! Arrival and Dismissal will look different this year, due to COVID-19 and social distancing. Arrival- Parents will not be able to access the elementary drop off area until 9:00 a.m. when the buses leave the elementary complex. The parent drop off line will begin at the STOP sign in the parking area closest to the stadium. Please be patient. Students will begin dismissing from the buses at 8:45 a.m. Students getting off buses will proceed to the following doors: Kindergarten-1st-Main Office Doors,2nd-3rd third grade doors, 4th-5th cafeteria doors. Teachers will be at each door taking the temperature of each child entering the school and to monitor social distancing. After the buses leave, parents will be asked to move forward to the elementary main office doors. ALL students being dropped off by a parent will enter the main office doors. No parents are allowed to enter the school. Please have your child wear a mask upon exiting the car. Pickup- Please contact the school office each day by 10:00 a.m. with a note or phone call if your child is getting picked up by you or a family member. Dismissal for pick up riders will be promptly at 2:45. Please use regular communication with the school, this will help us prevent delays in dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 3:00 or when all students have been picked up by their parents for bus dismissal. If you need a car tag, please contact the school office. You must have a car pick up tag by the end of the first week of school. Please be patient and flexible during these changes. Thank you for all of your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.

We have created a "Safe Return to School” Task Force and will meet this week to work on logistics of returning to school. There will be a plan drafted and available as soon as possible to all. We want to return to full capacity and normal but most likely we have ES students here much of the week, MS/HS students will have a brick and mortar schooling combined with a distance learning model. This is all to increase social distancing and be as safe as possible. For those parents who definitely do not want their children in school, we will accommodate them with a distance learning model so they can still be a Grand Valley student and return when they are comfortable. Have a good week and we will update you with the plan asap. Dr. William R. Nye Jr. Superintendent, Grand Valley Local Schools 111 Grand Valley Ave. West Suite A Orwell Ohio, 44076 william.nye@grandvalley.school Phone: (440) 805-4545 Ext. 4, Option 1 Fax: (440) 437-1025 "Every Student Matters. All, Today's press conference indicates that the Governor will outline return to school guidelines on Thursday. Once we get those, the superintendents plan to meet with the local health departments and we will put together our return to school plan. I will let you all know as soon as I can as I am eager to create our return plan and roll it out to all. Have a good day! BN Dr. William R.
