What a beautiful night. Today Mrs. Pinto and the choir put on a benefit to honor Autumn Vanek and her family. Thank you to all of the community, staff, and students who donated baskets, time, and talent. It was a very powerful night. We proved tonight that we stand together as a community!

Today we are celebrating Emily Carlson, a Junior at GVHS. Emily represented Grand Valley and all of Ashtabula County as a member of the All-State Choir at the Ohio Music Education Association’s Annual conference. She performed as a Soprano in the Saturday, February 5, 2022 performance. Comprised of 120 students selected from around the state, this prestigious auditioned group performed a difficult program and was led by USC conductor, Jo-Michael Scheibe. Students spent two intense days at the convention and three previous days rehearsing together prior to the performance. Achieving at this level is the pinnacle of a music student’s high school career and the performers were awarded coveted medals at the conclusion of the concert.
