Reminder: If you need a Chromebook to complete your online education, these are available for pickup on Wednesday, 8/25 @ 10:00 in the Grand Valley HS lobby.

For your first day of school on Thursday August 26th, please watch your orientation video and begin to explore the "getting started" resources at the link above. As of now, we expect students to be actually logging into the system and completing work that same day; however, if there is any delay in that, we will notify you as soon as we receive notice.

Please be reminded that students enrolling in this online program are agreeing to commit to the program for at least the first semester of the school year, and to participate in the day-to-day assignments and activities of all courses which will equal approximately 5-6 hours of daily participation. The State of Ohio requires students to complete 910 hours of virtual learning over the course of a full school year. Students enrolled in grades K-5 will receive live lessons Monday through Thursday in ELA, math, science, and social studies each week. These live lessons would range from 30-60 minutes each and combine with other asynchronous (self-paced) work that students complete on their own. Additionally, students in grades K-1 will also receive asynchronous (self-paced) instruction in health and physical education, while students in grades 2-5 will receive asynchronous (self-paced) instruction in art and physical education. Students enrolled in grades 6-12 will receive live lessons in ELA, math, science, and social studies two times per week. They can also be enrolled in up to three other courses depending on your school's specific course of study.  Teachers at all grades will also have scheduled office hours to assist students with work as needed. Although some portions of these courses may not require your attendance in live sessions per Edmentum's policies, you are required to attend per our local policies and state policies in order to satisfy our Learning Management System's requirement of tracking your participation time.

Please keep your eyes peeled for the next couple days for an email that will be coming to you directly from Edmentum with your login credentials. My contact information is listed below if you have any questions. When emailing or calling, please be sure to include your child's name, grade, and school district so that I may pull up the proper information.

We are looking forward to a beneficial and enriching year of online learning, and we appreciate your flexibility as we adjust to this new program. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.  Thanks,

Mr. Alex Anderson, Supervisor of Online Instruction
